Week 8: DQ 2

1.Great posting! I agree with your findings! If you were working with patients with chronic illness, what suggestions would you make in aid of coping? Do you think you would be able to help? What are your thoughts? Thanks for Sharing!

2.Thank you for your response. I agree with your findings as I also advocate patients being actively involved in their care! In aid of promoting patient centered care, what advice would you give to patients? Would you suggest healthcare providers conduct educational in services during follow up visits? 3.Great Posting! I agree that psychosocial intervention can be very beneficial! However, you explained that Biofeedback has limitation. I understand that Biofeedback is a technique that trained people use to improve their health by learning to control certain internal bodily processes that normally occur involuntarily, such as heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, and skin temperature (Hawkins, 2007). It has also been proven to aid with other chronic conditions. Thus, do you think this is something the patient could learn to utilize without the worry if insurance will cover the expense? 4.Great posting! Thank you for sharing your good news with us! Seems like you have done great with the outcome of remaining seizure free! The methods you have identified and implemented has proven positive for you. Would you suggest those methods with others that may be suffering with this disease? If so, do you think it can be successful for others? Thanks for sharing!

5.Great Response! That is interesting how you explained to have your child take physical therapy rather than pain medications. I can understand your feelings, as I will be a bit hesitant. However, what would you do if the physical therapy caused pain? Would there be any other options you might consider? Would you involve the child in the decision making process? Thanks for Sharing!

6.Hi Nicole: Great Posting! I agree with your findings! It is very important to have family support to help aid one through an illness! I have a member of my family presently going through a crisis and would be devastated if he had no family support. However, what are your thoughts for those who doesn't have any family support in regard to illness? Do you think that may actually interfere with the healing process? If so, how? Thanks for Sharing!

7.Great Posting! I agree with your findings! Having support from friends and family may help people to cope with life difficulties! I believe people that have support systems are truly blessed! However, what would you suggest to those who don't have those support systems? How do those people cope? Thanks for Sharing!

8.Great posting! I truly believe that having social support plays a major part regarding psychosocial outcome! I agree with your statement " it starts at home with the parents". This is where we form our beliefs, morals, and traditions from parental teaching. Thus, we then understand the importance of family and friends! Thanks for Sharing!

9.Great Posting! I totally agree with your findings! Education is the key! I believe if one is educated on the subject, they can make more informed choices! Sadly to say, most illness happen due to the lack of education and/or knowledge. Thanks for Sharing!
